Misty River is a family owned and operated equestrian facility situated just minutes from the city of Winnipeg in southern Manitoba, Canada.

We offer a lesson program for beginners through to advanced riders, a summer camp program along with quality boarding. We regularly travel to shows throughout Manitoba, Canada and the US. We also accept horses in for training whether it is initial starting or backing and ongoing training in all the English disciplines.

Situated off highway 59, a mile or so from the number 1 highway, just south of Winnipeg. For those familiar with Winnipeg, we are just 12 minutes from St Vital shopping centre!

We are less than one hour's drive from the US border and for anyone flying in to view horses, we are only half an hour from Winnipeg's international airport.

We breed and sell high quality, rideable, sport horses suitable for all the English disciplines, who are renowned for their excellent conformation and quiet temperaments. Our bloodlines come from many of the old Dutch and Holsteiner families.

We run a very friendly open barn, with a strong team spirit and we welcome riders and owners of all ages and standards who may or may not, own their own horse. The horses' welfare, comfort and correct training are our prime consideration. We offer spacious boxes, excellent pasture turnout on our large acreage, a modern, bright, heated indoor riding arena and well qualified, caring staff.

We have an active and highly successful show team, who attend shows across Canada and the US, competing in the disciplines of both jumpers and dressage.

We are also very happy to host 3 or 4 meets a year of the Manitoba Mounted Shooting Association. This young, exciting and dynamic club are making a name for themselves in the Manitoban equestrian world. They are a very friendly and well organised club, but boy, do the balloons take a pasting!

As a family we consider ourselves to be most fortunate to be able to earn our living working alongside that most noble beast, the horse. Working, living and just being around horses, is a grand passion, and not one to be taken lightly. We welcome you to our passion, our home and our family.

We hope you enjoy this website. Please check back regularly for updates.
Misty River Ranch

Misty River is the home of THE THREE CUPS horses and is happy to be the recipient of both the 4 year old jumper champion and 5 year old jumper champion awarded by the Manitoba Hunter Jumper Association for 2012. Three Cups Light my Fire received the 4 year old title and Three Cups Fire Fly, the 5 year old title. Three Cups Light my Fire is pictured left, rider with the turquose shirt.

A lot of people ask about our prefix: Three Cups. The origin of this is a small English village in East Sussex, England, whose centrepiece is, of course, the village pub, which was called The Three Cups Inn. This famous hostelry is pictured, left. The Biron family farm where the Three Cups horse breeding farm was started, was a close neighbour to this classic English pub.

Pictured left, is Holsteiner stallion, Cathalido, the newest addition to the stallion line-up at Misty River. His first foals for us are eagerly awaited.
